Have you seen it? ...Slumdog Millionaire

My brother David, posted about this movie back in January. You can read his post here. Ever since I wanted to see it. Well the other day in Walmart I was returning a movie to RedBox and saw that Slumdog Millionaire came out on DVD today, I was in luck there was one in the box - score a movie at home night only for one buck!

Like David and Armilyn felt it was difficult to see in the movie the slums of Mumbai portrayed...knowing there are truly places of utter poverty here in our world like that. I told Stephen that I could not imagine Madeline and James growing up in a place like that sleeping on top of mounds of trash. It made me sad to think of all the children in this world living that way today. I pray for those children.

They did an awesome job with this movie. In some of the scenes of the main character as a boy, they had Stephen and I cracking up! Not in a million years could I do what that kid did in the out house! Can I say Y U C K !!! LOL You could smell the poop covered boy through the TV screen!
Anyways, if you haven't seen it...you should! It's worth at least a buck (do you have a RedBox near you?). "Slumdog Millionaire" actually has a powerful, positive message. To add some perspective, here's a bit of insightful commentary on the movie by Father Robert Barron:

*You can pause my music playlist on the sidebar so you can hear the video better.
And here is the Bollywood dance scene, love it!...

Stephen swears he can easily do this dance, would love to get that on video! ;)

We actually left as the dance scene started, because we both had to go to the bathroom. Plus, before we got cable, we used to watch the international channel on Saturday's at noon because they played an "Access Hollywood"-type program for Indian movies and they would show a bunch of dance scenes from current Bollywood movies. So we were like, "we've seen this stuff."
