7 Quick Takes Friday (volume 1)

I follow this blog called Conversion Diary. The blog author is a mother around my age who happens to live here in Austin. She also is a former atheist and now a Catholic Christian. She's an awesome writer and I love reading her blog posts. Every Friday she writes a 7 Quick Takes Friday post, just recapping her week in 7 takes. So I thought I'd try to post the same. Here goes...

I can't believe we are already 2/3 through January and we still haven't put all our Christmas decor away in the attic! We've been busy. But I have about 90% of it boxed up, Stephen needs to lug them upstairs and put them in the attic. We WILL get it done this weekend.

The Four Apostles by Durer, 1526.

I am a huge advocate of Christian Unity. I think it is so sad that the followers of Christ have broken up into thousands of churches and denominations. Surely it's not what He wanted for His Church?
"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me." John 17:20-21
I see the many divisions within our extended family alone. Oh how I long and pray that one day we as Christians will all unite, unite so the rest of the world of unbelievers will believe. This week marks the week of prayer within the Catholic Church for Christian Unity. I love what Pope Benedict had to say here

Some work changes for both Stephen and I. For me my boss offered me the option to work some extra hours from home to earn more money. They set me up on my laptop, so when I am at home on it - it's just like I am sitting at my desk at work and working on my computer there. I have access to everything. It's so cool! This is an image that I worked on and color corrected and uploaded to my work's website here from home this week.

Stephen just found out yesterday that his boss got promoted and will be taking over a larger international airport in another state. This means changes ahead with a new boss coming in. Also there is word that Stephen's supervising managers are applying for job promotions too at other locations. If this occurs Stephen is gunning to move up a level to their management positions. He tried for this position 2 years ago, but he didn't have enough experience and time with the company. Now with 3.5 years under his belt we are praying that if the opportunity presents itself, he will get promoted too!

We have a busy weekend ahead. Both of our neighbor friends have children celebrating birthdays. Remember the twins I posted about babysitting here, well they turn ONE tomorrow! I helped their mom sew some number one t-shirts yesterday because she has a photo shoot for them tomorrow, can't wait to see the photos! Also Miss Cheyenne next door turns TWO, I posted her birthday pics from last year here. She's such a pretty (like porcelain doll pretty) lil girl and so sweet. We're excited to celebrate with all of them. Stephen and I also have my work party at Dave & Busters this weekend too!

I just heard on the news that if the Chicago Bears make it to the Superbowl, President Obama said he'll come to the big game here in Texas. Too bad the Vikings didn't make it to the playoffs and Superbowl - could you imagine? You know we would've gone broke getting tickets to the game! LOL We're still looking for a new HDTV for the kid's loft area. Hoping there will be some awesome Superbowl sales in the next few weeks. Stephen rather upgrade our current 46" HDTV in our family room, and just put that one up in the loft. We'll see.

So how is season 10 of American Idol?! We've recorded it but I haven't had a chance to watch any of the auditions yet. I wonder if we'll be into it this season with the new judges? I love J-Lo though. One movie Stephen and I like to watch that she stars in is Selena, how sad of a story was that?

Hmmmm I love twins!! As you know! Happy birthday to them!

Thanks for sharing the Benjamin 16 link. This is something that troubles me, as well. I don't like that we're split up as we are... but I hold to the belief that Catholicism is a path to the truth. I let my pride in Catholicism cloud my discussions with other Christians sometimes. I'm working on it!

Prayers are offered up for a promotion for your husband!

P.S. - THIS IS EMBARRASSING. I was going to type "Benny 16," instead of Benedict 16. I figured this was semi-irreverent so when I typed it out it came out BENJAMIN 16! I promise I know his name!
