Kyle Easter Hunt 2009

This evening the city of Kyle put on a big Easter Egg Hunt and free carnival. Stephen had to work, so I took the kids myself. Madeline wanted to ride on the train, James was falling asleep in his stroller so he declined to go on. Madeline thought it was super fun!

All the booths and games were 1 ticket each, but they were giving out bags with free tickets. Madeline got an Easter egg drawn on her face.

The kids meeting the Easter bunny.

I have to complain about the actual hunt. They did it by age group. So James went in the first group. We patiently waited behind the marked line of the fenced off area for them to tell the kids to "go!". James picked up about 8 eggs, he was done and content. So Madeline was in the next group which would get a turn 15 minutes later, they asked everyone to clear out of the fenced off area so they could put out all the eggs. So of course there were a mob of kids and parents by each entrance ready to get their eggs. They then announce that this age group is kids only (no parents) and for them to come into the fenced off area and wait behind the marked line until they said go. So what happens...as soon as the let them in the fenced area a mob of kids AND their parents charge the area and start getting all the eggs. The DJ was even yelling "stop, stop!". I get annoyed when kids don't listen, but I get really annoyed when adults can't follow simple instruction and rules! By the time Madeline got into the fenced area all the eggs were gone! She started crying, poor girl. So James gave her half of his eggs.

Luckily at all the free game booths they were passing out candy. So Madeline won herself a ton of candy and that seemed to have made up for not getting any eggs.

Taking a break from the games to play on the slides.

Meeting the H-E-B Buddy, we love H-E-B!

James though he was funny.

Madeline met a princess...Miss Teen Kyle that is. :)

And she got an autograph photo from her!

Before we left Madeline wanted to ride the train again, this time James wanted to go on it too. But the minute he was strapped in, he hated it - can you tell? LOL
