I am super excited because we have one more road trip planned before the end of the year. Thankfully this will be a shorter roadtrip than our ones to Iowa and California. Before Christmas we are meeting my parents in New Orleans! They were going to fly out here for a visit, so we suggested hey why not meet us in New Orleans for a weekend first and then drive home with us. Fortunately my parents have great retirement flight benefits, so they can hop on any flight to anywhere. My Mom just booked our hotel suite and I'm researching on things to do while we are there. We only spent 1 day there last summer so we didn't get to see everything. And we really couldn't wait to go back and visit the Big Easy!
2 free events going on while we are there that I am excited about are the annual Christmas concert at the Cathedral-Basilica Saint Louis. It is the oldest Catholic Cathedral in continual use in the U.S.
And also the Caroling by candle light in the famous Jackson Square (which happens to be just in front of the Cathedral). I think my parents and the kids will really enjoy these events. We also want to take a ride on the old street cars and see all the neat mansion homes. I'd like to visit one of the famous cemeteries too and see the old tombs. And of course looking forward to all the yummy food there!
