Bummer

The past 2 days my blog has looked a mess! The template background I had from A Blog to Brag About was not showing up correctly. When I contacted them they said it had to do with Photobucket and it should all be back to normal soon. Well I got tired of seeing my blog in hiatus, so I changed the template background to this generic Blogger template. It'll do for now until I find a new one or get mine old one back.

I thought this photo was funny. We had just gotten back from the Post Office and the bank (the teller gave the kids DumDum lollipops, if you can't tell James had blue). They are hardly ever loving or touchy feely with each other. But they both wanted to lounge in the beach chair and they were in a silly mood.

I posted this video on Facebook yesterday and emailed it out to family. Over the past year and a half I've been taking little video clips of Madeline reading to show how she is improving. This one cracks me up! I love how she changes her tone to make the story sound more interesting.

New Look

Hot diggity dog, I found a super cute, new look for my blog! By the way doesn't Penny Lane look so sweet in the pic? She was only 4 months old. So I spent the afternoon updating the look of my blog, adding and deleting stuff from my sidebars and coming up with a new blog title and description. So what do you think!?

Looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow Madeline's cheer squad will be marching in the Hometown Kyle Fair Parade. And on Sunday we've got the Vikings vs. the Cowboys. Can't wait! Hope y'all will browse around my updated blog, leave me a comment - I love receiving them. And have an awesome weekend everyone!

New header/banner

As you've probably noticed there's a new ohana portrait at the top of my blog! Yup had a great coupon for the Picture People this week...buy 1 sheet get 2 free. Unfortunately James didn't really want to cooperate for the session and did nothing but frown and pout. He didn't want to sit down and pose...he wanted to run around and play! O'well. And would you believe after the session while we're looking at our photos I point to the computer monitor and tell James, "see you were frowning when the lady was trying to take your picture". James looked at us and with a big grin said, "Cheeeeeeessssseeeeee!". What a little stinker. Anyways, any thoughts of my new banner up top?

Sharing some funniness...

Wow so it took me ALL afternoon and evening to fix my blog. It was so frustrating. I really did love the previous background layouts from the "cutest blogs on the block" but they were simply not loading, or taking too long to load. So I found a new layout. It did however cause me to loose some of my widgets. So I had to redo some stuff. But I'm pretty satisfied with the new look and am done with it for now!

Sharing some funniness...
Every night when I tuck Madeline into bed she picks out a prayer card from this box set Aunt Stormy sent her. She closes her eyes as I read it to her and then we make the sign of the cross after we're done with the prayer. She does the sign of the cross automatic now, but it's quite cute when she makes the motion across the shoulders from right to left instead of left to right! Last night she asked me, "Mommy, what is the Holy Spirit?" So I replied, "Remember Madeline when we've told you that God is everywhere like even in our hearts, but He's invisible...". Madeline cuts me off, "Oh ya mom God's invisible like when Curious George pretended to be invisible today...". LOL Well she is only 4. :-) But I thought it was a cute conversation. This evening she also asked me when I was pouring her a cup of milk, "Mommy how do they get the milk from the cow to us?....Oh I know, people pick it up from the farm, bring it to the store, put it in a jug and a nice cold spot in the store so we can find and buy it!" :-) My reply, "Madeline you're so smart!".

Came across this list...had to post it!

“Things I learned living in Texas”

1. A possum is a flat animal that sleeps in the middle of the road.
2. There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 of them live in Texas.
3. There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 of them live in Texas , plus a couple no one’s seen before. (Seriously we've had some scary tarantula looking (Wolf Spiders) in our house!)
4. If it grows, it’ll stick ya. If it crawls, it’ll bite cha. (Got bit by a fire ant yesterday, sigh)
5. “Onced” and “Twiced” are words.
6. It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy!
7. “Jaw-P?” means “Did ya’ll go to the bathroom?”
8. People actually grow and eat okra.
9. “fixinto” is one word. (Stephen actually uses the word 'fixin' on occasion now!)
10. There is no such thing as “lunch”. There is only dinner and then there is supper.
11. Iced tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you’re two & we do like a little tea with our sugar. (I LOVE SWEET TEA!)
12. Backwards and forwards means “I know everything about you.”
13. The word “jeet” is actually a phrase meaning “Did you eat?”.
14. You don’t have to wear a watch, because it doesn’t matter what time it is, you work until you’re done or it’s too dark to see. (True when Stephen's employee asked when they could go home, he replied "when we're done")
15. You don’t PUSH buttons, you MASH ʽEM.
16. “No. Jew?” is a common response to the question “Did you bring any beer?”
17. You measure distance in minutes.
18. You switch from heat to A/C in the same day.
19. All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable, grain, insect or animal.
20. You know what a “DAWG” is.
21. You carry jumper cables in your car — for your OWN car.
22. You only own five spices: salt, pepper, Texas Pete, Tabasco and Ketchup.
23. The local papers cover national and international news on one page, but require 6 pages for local gossip and high school football.
24. You think that the first day of deer season is a national holiday.
25. You find 100 degrees Fahrenheit “a bit warm”. (Hilarious)
26. You know all four seasons: Almost summer, summer, still summer, and Christmas. (Yup pretty much)
27. Going to Wal-Mart is a favorite past time know as “goin‘ Wal-Martin” or “off to Wally World”.
28. You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good chicken stew weather.
29. Fried catfish is the other white meat.
30. We don’t need no dang driver’s ed. If our mama says we can drive, we can drive, dag-nabbit.
You understand these jokes and forward them to your Texas friends and those who just wish they were from Texas.

**Forgot to add 1 other funny...
So I decided to add Google AdSense to this blog (the advertisement banners you'll see on the left side when you scroll down). I have AdSense on my Sewing Projects blog, figured I'd just add it here to. Well what it does is search your blog for "key words or phrases" in order to display appropriate ads. Well when I viewed it after I added it, one advertisement was for "How to get rid of that fat stomach". The thing is, I don't believe I've ever posted about that topic - so do you think maybe Google searches the photos too!!?? Ha ha. Oh goodness.
