Magik Theatre Fieldtrip

Yesterday Madeline had her 1st grade class fieldtrip to the Magik Theatre in San Antonio. Weeks ago I had volunteered to be her class chaperon, and luckily I was well enough to still go. I rode on the school bus with her class. It was buzzing with excitement, the kids couldn't wait to get there! When we arrived the kids were able to play on this wooden playground and eat some lunch before the theatre play started.

There are 4 or 5 1st grade classes at Madeline's elementary school. Madeline found her friend Olivia (they had kindergarten together) on the playground there.

It was a beautiful day, and we all enjoyed our sack lunches out in the park.

Here is Madeline with 2 of her classmates inside the theatre. I didn't notice when I took this photo, but check out the kid in the red shirt behind Madeline. Stephen said, he was that kid at that age. Too funny!

We weren't allowed to take photos during the play. This is when it ended. The play was "If you give a pig a party" based on a book by Laura Joffe Numeroff. Madeline was super excited because she got this book at Chick-fil-a with her kid's meal. The actors did a fabulous job!

Afterwards the kids got to meet all the actors.

And here is Madeline's class and her teacher (in black pants) waiting for the bus to come pick us up and take us back to school. It was a fun fieldtrip and all the kids seemed to love the play. I was glad I was able to go along. Love making these memories with my daughter.

Today Madeline had a classmate's birthday party to attend. Here Madeline is with the birthday girl, Gianna. The party was at a local gymnastics gym. James was super thrilled they asked him to stay and play in the gym too - it's right up his alley to be running, jumping and swinging.

They had this giant rope swing, it was a big hit with all the kids.

James probably swung on it 30-40 times! He even started pounding his chest and making gorilla sounds. :)

They also had a huge foam pit to run and jump into. The kids did it over and over, working up a sweat. When James would run and jump in he would yell, "canon ball!!!!".
