Cousin to cousin we'll always be, Special friends from the same family tree

"Cousins are those childhood playmates who grow up to be forever friends". I have a real close bond with many of my cousins. It was so great growing up and having cousins around the same age. I have many fond childhood memories with my cousins Denise and Jenn. And as I grew older my relationships became even stronger with my older cousins and even my cousin's children. So I am happy that Madeline and James have cousins close in age. Though we live far from most of them - it's always a treat when they get to see one another, play and have fun!

This past weekend Madeline had so much fun with her cousin Kiara. They are only a little over a month apart in age. It's crazy to see how much these 2 girls have grown over the last 5 years! And now both of them are starting Kindergarten this summer.

"Cousins are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear the answer." Thanks to today's technologies I've kept in touch with most of my cousins and Stephen's cousins. It's always so wonderful to hear from them, whether it's a call, or text, or email, or a comment left on our blog or facebook it inspires me to continue in striving hard and doing my best to keep the extended family in contact. God blessed me with wonderful family.

Quick Penny update since many have been concerned and asking. It's been 2 weeks now since her hernia repair surgery. We were able to keep her calm so her body could heal. She saw the vet yesterday and got her stitches out - all healed well! Now her hair just needs to grow back on her belly. We are dog sitting for our neighbors this weekend so Penny Lane will be super thrilled to have Starla over to play with!

Hozit cuz, Thanks for the pictures of Madeline and Kiara. You are so organized. Thanks again for a GREAT time while visiting with your ohana in Austin. Next year, Hawaii? Maureen and the kids went to spend time with her family and I returned back to Hawaii for work. Good to be home! Aloha......
