7+7=14

It was almost 7 years ago that we got married...

May 1995
...and it was 7 years before that, Stephen and I met, started dating and went to prom together.

A total of 14 years of love, sweat, tears, joy, bliss, surprises, challenges, victories, losses, agreements, disagreements, romance, devotion, laughter, desire, passion and grace. Today we celebrated these years with an early anniversary date!

Because of our gracious friends next door, Jimmena and Bill, we were able to leave the kids with them and get away for a movie/dinner date! So off we went in our Hertz, blue, convertible Ford Mustang.

Stephen's been wanting to go to the Alamo Drafthouse near downtown Austin. The Alamo Drafthouse began as a second-run movie theater, and distinguished itself by the food and drink service offered inside the theater, including cold beers. The seating is arranged with rows of cabaret style tables in front of each row of seats, with an aisle between each row to accommodate waiter service.

So here I am looking over the menu deciding what to order. We splurged...and ordered chips/queso/salsa and popcorn to start with along with soda pop for me and a pint of Shiner for Stephen. I ordered their "Royale with Cheese" burger and fries (super yummy!). And for dessert we had their hot, fresh baked Chocolate Chip cookies with vanilla ice cream! We saw the X-men movie Wolverine, it was pretty good. Oh and before the movie started they played super old cartoons and some foreign short films on the screen, very cool.

We had a fantastic time!
