My poor blog just doesn't get much attention from me now that I work full time. This will be a monster post to catch up!
The kids requested some one on one time, so I planned a few special dates. First I brought James McDonald's for lunch at his school on the last Friday. He enjoyed it, and I enjoyed seeing him interact with his classmates.
Last Saturday morning Madeline and I had a mother/daughter date. So she sat shot gun and we put on lipgloss on our way to brunch.
We sang to our favorite tunes on the radio.
We had a delicious lunch at la Madeleine!
Oh chocolate almond croissant, oh how I've missed you!
After brunch we hit up some stores and did some shopping!
While we were out Stephen and James decided to have a father/son outing. They went to IHOP and ordered lots of bacon. Then they went to a sports store and the park.
It's been awhile since we've gotten together with the Lane family. We met them for a night at the ballpark! It was super fun! The kids had a ball!
Erica and I have been friends since high school.
It's always great spending time with her and her family.
Ha ha, Erica took this pic of Madeline when she was asked to hold Daddy's beer for a minute.
After the game the crowd was invited down onto the field for some dancing and live music. Kids loved it!
The kids just had their last day of school on Wednesday. 176 days of school....boy that flew by! I can't believe how much the kids have grown.
They learned a lot this year and we are so proud of them.
Last time dropping them off in the morning this school year.
Madeline really connected with her teacher and cried about missing her. She drew her this class picture to include with a gift for her teacher. Ms. Everette said it made her teary eyed!
James survived Kindergarten! His teacher was awesome and she truly cared about James and seeing him excel. I can't believe my baby is now a 1st grader!!!
The kids both received awards at the last day assemblies. Madeline received straight A's ONCE AGAIN and received a Honor Roll medal, she also received a perfect attendance medal and Top Explorer (their mascot is an Explorer) medal. James also received a great attendance award, a Mr. Cooperative award, and his Kindergarten diploma. :)
So we celebrated!!!!!
