Football and Chocolate

Tell me what boy wouldn't want to go potty here and receive a Hershey Kiss or Rolo for a reward!?

During the Viking game this evening for the first time James was willing to sit on the potty! While Madeline was at CCD earlier this evening we stopped by Wal-mart and bought a new football potty seat and a candy jar with some of James' favorite candy chocolate to entice him to sit on the potty. For the past year I've been trying to persuade him to sit on the potty but he refused, I think it's been out of fear of falling in.

He's now very enthusiastic about trying to go on the potty (like his father and his Uncle Bryce, James is addicted to anything chocolate) and has asked to try a second time tonight. Hopefully potty training will stay this smooth and positive. Although I have a feeling it might be a little messier than potty training went with Madeline. My only challenge with going the candy reward route, is to make sure Stephen and Madeline don't take a chocolate after every time they visit the commode!

This is what I get now when I ask my kids to "Smile!" :)
