Love begins by taking care of the closest ones - the ones at home.

This blog post title is a quote from Mother Teresa. My Love has begun many days over...4 of those days being the days James and Madeline were conceived and born. It's sometimes incomprehensible how the heart works and can be filled with more love. And today looking at these pictures with my babies my heart is definitely over-filled.

All week Madeline was counting down the days until Mother's Day. And this morning she gave me a beautiful hand made card she created at school...

They had to sound out their answers and spell them on their own. It's says:
My mom's name is Malisa. (Melissa)
My mom is 24 years old. (32, isn't she kind?)
My mom makes the best brones. (Brownies, I made some yesterday.)
My mom loves R famile, (our family)
but she hates fiting. (fighting)
I love my mom because she bys me toys. (buys me toys)
Love, Madeline

Happy Mother's Day!

I tried always to do better: saw always a little further. I tried to stretch myself.- Audrey Hepburn. As a mother I feel a lot like Ms. Hepburn's quote. I feel like these wants come natural being a mother. But I must remind myself with my Faith, that though I will always worry about my children, I have Faith they will always be okay...Do not be anxious about tomorrow; tomorrow will look after itself.- Matthew 6:34.

I took the kids to the mall earlier this week to have their portraits taken at the Picture People. We were working on an art project for Nana and Oma's mother's day gifts and needed a photo of them to be in the center of it! James wasn't very cooperative with the photographer, so we didn't get too many poses to choose from, but used the one above. Both Nana and Oma called to say they love the gifts, a matted photo of the kids, with poems about Nanas and Omas, as well as their hand prints around the mat. They turned out cute, I forgot to take a photo of them though before we mailed them.

So I received my mother's day gift a day early. Madeline couldn't keep the secret! LOL I got just what I wanted...a bird feeder! It's a beautiful glass hand blown Bella Bird Feeder. It has this blue swirl design on it. Oh and Stephen made sure I had a 5 year supply of bird feed (James is standing on it)!

While I was hanging my new bird feeder on my back porch, the kids were ecstatic to see these huge bubbles flying over our fence! Our neighbors were having a birthday party and had this gigantic bubble blowing fan. It worked out for my kids that the wind was blowing all the bubbles into our yard. :-)

Here's my bird feeder! Now I just need to sit back and wait for the birds!

I'll end this post with a prayer for all the moms out there...

Madonna and Child by Sassoferrato.

May the Blessed Mother come into your life today with a special blessing for you. May you always be grateful for the Blessed Mother. Without her we would not have Jesus. Our Savior.
