Thanksgiving Break: Infinity Scarf projects

Madeline has this whole week off from school. And we've been inspired by our neighbor friend, Kristen, to learn to crochet. I thought back that I was probably around Madeline's age when I learned to knit from my Oma and Tante during a visit to Holland. I also learned how to crochet from my girlfriend, Kelly, while we were in college. And now with You Tube and using video tutorials as a tool....I thought this would be something to try during school break. I started pinning crochet ideas to my fabrics and sewing Pinterest board.

I really love those infinity scarfs that are becoming popular like this one I pinned. I figure Madeline and I could learn an easy stitch and make ourselves some infinity scarves.

So we went to Hobby Lobby and picked out some yarn (James wants me to make him a scarf too). Can you guess who picked which color? We're going to attempt these by following this video:

I'm also finding easy tutorials on how to make infinity scarves out of fabric as well. I found this one on Pinterest too. They seem super easy to sew.

I'm going to try to make one for myself and one for Madeline. Picked up some jersey knit fabric and some lace. Can't wait to see how these turn out.

I can't wait to see the finished products!!

Crocheting is one of my favorite hobbies! It's also the Hubster's least favorite of my hobbies...perhaps it's from all the yarn balls all over the house! :)

How fun! I would love to learn how to knit or crochet. You are so creative, I'm sure they will turn out great.

Fun week for you guys! Been crocheting around here this week as well. Made the baby a beanie for the hospital and now all the kids want a beanie...easy and cheap Christmas gifts! Love BOTH infinity scarves...wish I could get into sewing, just never turns out that good, maybe just need to practice more.
