7 Quick Takes Friday (volume 4)

It's been a heck of a week with our family surviving an almost train wreck, hydroplaning my car after CCD on Monday getting into an accident, and being sick with a massive sinus cold/infection. Other than those things our week has been pretty normal.

I just received an email this morning from Austin Fox News asking Madeline to be a kidcaster this Tuesday! Madeline is going to be ON TV! I emailed her pic and a brief paragraph of why they should pick her, and I guess they liked it! They seem to post videos and pics on their site, so don't worry...y'all will get to see Madeline ON TV!

My mother's day gift...going on a limo wine tour here in the Texas hill country with my cousin Pamela from Houston and my cousin Maureen from Hawaii in early June. Pam called and asked if I'd be interested in joining them. Although I'm not a big wine drinker, a ladies day out with 2 of my fav cousins without any kids sounded really nice. So Stephen urged me to go. I told him it can be my belated mother's day gift. I can't wait!

Madeline and I only have 1 more CCD class at Church for this school year. I've really enjoyed being a catechist this year, I'm so glad I volunteered to do it. And I'm thankful that the parents of my students have faith in me that I can help their children spiritually grow within our Faith. Next school year Madeline will be preparing to receive her First Holy Communion. It will be a very special preparation.

Last May for our anniversary we went to a Carrie Underwood concert. This year we're going to go see the Texas Roller Derby girls. :) We recently watched a Netflix movie, "Whip It" which was filmed here in Austin and is actually a pretty good flick about a hick town girl trying out to be a roller derby girl. Stephen said we should go see it live. So I bought us tickets to go on the 14th. Should be interesting!

The kids CANNOT wait for our neighborhood pool to open tomorrow. Already charging the battery for my waterproof camera. :)
