Be Thankful

We were so thankful that mom, dad and Mike were able to visit us for Thanksgiving. We had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving feast at home. Mom made her yummy cherry cheese pie and a HUGE pot of gravy. I made an herb roasted turkey, crock pot mashed potatoes (recipe from Michaela), pecan crusted sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, honey glazed carrots, stuffing, crescent rolls and biscuits, and pumpkin cheesecake. It all turned out yummy!

I rarely have occasions where I pull out my fine China, but this was definitely a special occasion to use it.

Dad guided Stephen through the proper way to carve a turkey.

Madeline helped fill our water goblets with ice.

Uncle Mike and Madeline getting ready to dig in!

I think James had 4 helpings of chicken (aka turkey ;).

Mom and Dad flew to Colorado Springs this morning to visit Aunt Anne so on their last night here we went to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse and then caught the amazing Christmas light show at Southpark Meadows.

This pic doesn't do the light show justice, it was pretty awesome.

We had a great visit!
