In less than 6 weeks on December 5th Penny Lane will celebrate her first birthday! Madeline and I took her to the vet on Monday. She now weighs 40lbs.! She's grown so much (as you can see from the photo below from the day we brought her home).
Stephen and I have been watching the Dog Whisperer, we love Cesar! We're real happy that Penny is a pretty obedient dog and she's submissive. We're still working on her walking skills, she likes to pull on her leash. She also loves to steal food from the kids when it's within reach, especially James. It's hard to blame her, she's a hound dog and she easily detects the scent of food! :) And lastly, Penny has dug up about 4-5 holes in the backyard. It started when she played tug-o-war with and few of the sod grass pieces that did not root themselves well into the ground. It's been driving Stephen crazy! Still trying to figure out how to correct this bad behavior. Overall Penny Lane has definitely become a sweet addition to our Ohana. I enjoy seeing the bond Madeline and James are making with their dog, they'll have many cherished memories of their childhood dog. :)
