Our Weekend in Humble

This weekend the kids and I took a 3 hour drive to Humble TX (East Houston) to attend the 50th Anniversary party from Oom George and Tante Xenia Flinkerbusch. Unfortunately Stephen had to work so I braved the drive myself. I was able to take a brand new 2010 Chevy Malibu from Stephen's work - so the kids and I had a comfortable drive. It was so great to be there to celebrate with the happy couple! Above is their wedding photo 50 years ago when they got married in Holland. They showed a beautiful slide show of all the photos taken on their wedding day.

Madeline and Ariel. Stephen and I were just talking how neat it is that it's come full circle - it wasn't long ago when I was 17 and Ariel was Madeline's age. Now Ariel, 17 almost 18, being adored by Madeline. Ohana is everything. :)

So cute! It was a great party - their sons Dwight and Stephen did a really great job throwing it! Only 42.5 more years until Stephen and I celebrate our 50th anniversary - wow!
