Even though Summer solstice doesn't technically start until June 21st this year it sure seems like summer begins early here in Texas! With warmer weather starting in May, school kids getting out of school the end of May, summer fun begins early! The other evening the kids and I watched a movie favorite, Finding Nemo. I gave the kids each their own bowl of popcorn. As you can see James loves "a-corn" as he calls it. He even asked for it the next morning for breakfast!
This afternoon I let the kids play in the sprinklers. Stephen and I were talking and he said, "I wonder what the neighbors would think if you and I got in our swimsuits and ran through the sprinklers?" :) Ah can you say, weird. To be a kid again.
Gabriel, Madeline and Mia enjoyed running through the sprinklers!
They even sunbathed on the driveway - they dried up pretty quickly.
I let Penny Lane watch the kids out front. She has her hernia repair surgery in 2 days. After that she'll have to stay in her kennel 24/7 for 7-10 days to make sure she heals up good. It'll be tough for her, but for her own good.
Madeline after she stuck her face in the sprinkler.
Doesn't Madeline get such a beautiful summer tan? Here she is sporting her new sunglasses and new summer swimsuit.
James is checking out the new occupants of his sissy's aquarium. It's been vacant for awhile so today we let Madeline get 1 fish and 1 red clawed crab to try out - hopefully they survive longer than the last few fish she's had. :)
Meet Mr. Krabs!
I can never get them to pose together and smile at the same time. I quickly shot this one, but when I asked to take another James was up and running! Little stinker bug.
But our princess Madeline is always willing to pose for the camera! :)
And lastly AWESOME news, we've finally sold our GMC Yukon! When Stephen got his job with Hertz and got a company car, we decided we no longer needed our Yukon so we put it up for sale in October 2007 - that's right we've had it for sale that loooonnnngggg! The high gas prices in 2008 did not help us in selling a large gas guzzling SUV. But finally the right buyer came along. We've signed the bank papers to transfer the title over and they should be coming mid week to pick it up. What a relief! No more car loan, we'll be saving money every month now instead of spending it towards a car we rarely drove. Hooray!
