Cuteness

I have to say I have been a little worried that James is behind with his speech and vocabulary for his age (2.5 years old). I finally scheduled him a Well Checkup with his pediatrician for March 10th, so I guess I will know more once she assesses him. I did have a friend whom is a speech pathologist tell me that from what I told her he sounds a little behind, but that happens sometimes with kids and all of a sudden they bounce back and start speaking a lot! She gave me some tips and advice. I'd say in the past month we've also been trying to restrict (and hopefully soon stop completely) James' use of his binky (aka pacifier). Penny has helped with this as she's chewed up most of his remaining binkies! Well I have to say in the past week I've noticed a big increase in James' speaking and vocabulary, actually a few times I got a little annoyed when he kept saying "Ma, Ma, Ma!" to get my attention and to tell me something. :) He's definitely trying more to speak to us to communicate rather than point and grunt. James has also started kissing! He never used to volunteer kisses or give them when asked. The most he would do is lean his forehead over so you could lay a kiss there. Well now he thinks it's hilarious to pucker up (like fish lip style) and give away these super wet kisses! So tonight when he was going to bed he gave his sissy a wet kiss and then laid one on me, so I said, "oh how I love James' wet kisses!". Madeline giggled and replied, "ya wet like a river!" (boy she is so smart).

Talking about Madeline, lately since Oma's passing we've been talking a lot about Omi (Oma) being in Heaven with God. She's been asking lots of questions, like where does she sleep in Heaven. Well just now we had this conversation..
Madeline: "Mommy, I have a tummy ache."
Me: "Well I think you ate too much earlier."
Madeline: "What's so important about eating food anyways?"
Me: "Well we need food for it's nutrition for our bodies to stay alive."
Madeline: "But I thought we don't eat in Heaven?"
Me: "Why do you think that?"
Madeline: "Because you said so Mommy, you said we're not allowed to eat in church!"
Me: "Well church is different than Heaven, church is where we go to listen to the Word of God and pray, Heaven is God's home where Omi is now."
Madeline: "So we can eat in Heaven, but what if God doesn't feed us?"
Me: "Do you eat in our home? Yes. So God will surely feed us in his home. :) "
Madeline: "So what do you think Omi is eating in Heaven Mommy?"

The questions never end, do they? :)
