There is power in prayer.

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." John 15:7

We're asked to intercede in prayer:
"Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much." James 5:16

Today I've done a lot of reflecting and praying, thus the reason for this post. There is actually a few things going on. First is about my Oma. She has had a rough couple of days, with her blood pressure fluctuating from really high to really low (both not good). It appears her BP medication is no longer effective. So her hospice caretaker advised my parents to just let her rest in bed with oxygen for several days, getting her out of bed and such would have her use too much energy. She also said it appears her body is just transitioning into a worse state, that her heart and lungs are struggling doing their jobs. The news makes me sad, and I pray our Lord will give her strength to recover and feel better again soon.

Second, today at Stephen's work they laid off quite a few people including 2 managers. Thankfully Stephen was not laid off, but I do pray that those other 2 managers find other work again soon. And I pray for their families as they go through this tribulation. Obviously with less managers, the duties need to be compensated for. Stephen will more than likely be busier than ever with work. He has such a great work ethic, so I know he will put in more hours even though he won't be paid for them (he's salary). The state of the economy today is so frustrating! I pray our nation can pull through the present economic crises. I pray for people who have lost their homes, for people who have lost or are in danger of losing their jobs, for young people (and old) who are struggling to find jobs.

Here are 2 prayers I found about our economy that I hope you will read and pray with me...
God, our wonderful and loving Father, how we love you, how we praise you, please continue to help us trust you to provide for our needs. These are troubled times all over the world and we worry about our homes and food, medical bills, health needs - bless us, Father, bless us, Jesus. In the name of Jesus, God bless us all and help us be strong and a shining example to others.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for faith and the people to come to you in their times of trouble, let them know you are the way and a loving God. Bless us Jesus that we may keep shelter and food and help others when we can. Lord give our new President Obama wisdom and strength , guide him and protect him dear LORD that he may help bring the economy into balance. In the name of Jesus. I pray. Amen.

I am glad to hear that he was not layed off. That is such a scary thing to go through.
