Inspired by my blogger friend, Chela who recently took her kiddos to the library...this afternoon I took the kids to the Kyle Community Library. Madeline loves being read bedtime stories, and she has a great collection of books but it's always nice to be able to read new stories. Those of you moms out there know what I mean after having to read a story over and over and over and over again. :-) James is also showing more interest in books (thanks to all who sent him books for his birthday - he especially is fond of the horse and barn related ones!). Often times when it seems too quiet, I will find James sitting down thumbing through the pages in a book.
They have a pretty good size children's area in the library. And also a nice toddler play area with some toys (James missed out, he was snoozing in his stroller the entire time). Madeline wanted to sit down and read some of the books she picked out. Obviously Madeline can't read yet, she's a gifted 4 year old but not that gifted ;-). But I think she's very observant of the pictures in the books, and pretends to read (add lib) the story. See the videos below.

Madeline's so cute. I think she has a pretty good vocabulary. I love to watch her speak because she curls her lips when she pronounces certain words.
Oh and off the subject, I received my estimate of charges for my broken camera...can you believe they want $139 to fix it!? The camera brand new cost $199! So it's a good thing I picked up that close out deal camera from Costco.
Just wanted to mention we've been getting pretty nice weather here in Central TX lately. I believe today was a high of 89. Anyhow my Hibiscus tree is certainly enjoying the weather. I've been getting so many blooms on it lately, aren't they pretty? Madeline came running in today to make sure to tell me their were FOUR new flowers on my tree today. And yes, that's a dog's rear end next to my tree and front door - it happily greets anyone who comes to our front door. :-)

Don't you just love those days. We are Heading back this Wednesday for new books. They get so excited. Way to go Melissa. By the way your daughter is so beautiful!!
What a blast! Hannah loves picking out books and we are always overdue b/c she never wants to take them back! The only problem is she is too loud for the librarians!
