Fredericksburg, TX

When we made the move from OR to TX and were on the LONG drive over with my parents we remembered passing through this quaint German town, Fredericksburg. It's about 1.5 hours west of Austin so on Tuesday we took a drive out there with my parents.

They had lots of really cute shops and boutiques.

James is now waving hi, here here is waving while we are sitting in front of an adorable B&B.

Madeline being silly!

Dad checking out some cool signs in one shop...

Stephen found one he likes!

Of course we had to stop and drink some German beer! Too bad we're a few days early of the town's famous Oktoberfest!

Funny thing is while we walked around Stephen got stopped by 2 different people about his Okoboji shirt. The first man pointed at Stephen and asked, "That's in Iowa, right!?". He then told us when he was a young boy he used to spend his summers there staying in a cabin with friends and working as a caddy. The 2nd guy that stopped Stephen said, "Iowa!". He said he lived about 30 minutes from Lake Okoboji all his life but moved here to TX 7 years ago.

Don't forget Octoberfest in New Brunfels just 20 minutes south of you.
